(the receipe say for 8 persons but we where 11)
Dough
125 g cold butter (125 gram is 4,4 ounces or 0,275 pounds)
3 dl flour (1,26 cups) I used 2/3 wheat flour and 1/3 graham
2 tablespoons cold water
filling
3 eggs
3 dl milk or cream (1,26 cups) I used 50/50
1/2 teaspoon salt
a pinch of white peppar and ground nutmeg
200 g grated cheddar chees (200 gram is 7,05 ounces or 0,44 pounds)
On top
Fresh figs or pears (I used pears, two of them, if you don't remember ;)
4 tablespoons of runny honey
Owen temperature 200 celsius (392 farenheit)
1. Mix butter, flour and water to a dough quickly (you don't want the butter to melt to much)
Press the half of dough on the bottom of your pie plate, the rest goes around the brim/edge.
2. Pre-bake the pie crust around 10 minutes
3. Mix the filling
4. Pour the filling in to the crust and bake it all 20-30 min in the bottom of the oven until the filling has "stopped"
5. Right before serving - divide the pears, warm the honey in a saucepan and flip the pears in it so they become glazed. Add it on top of the pie
Smaklig måltid
